Arbeitskreis Grenzinformation e. V.
The Schifflersgrund Border Museum is run by the Arbeitskreis Grenzinformation e. V., which was founded in 1990 and is based in Bad Sooden-Allendorf. The non-profit association has around 80 members, mainly from Hesse and Thuringia. Exhibitions, construction work, ticket office services and guided tours were largely carried out by the association itself for 27 years. Since 2017, full-time staff have been employed thanks to institutional funding from the states of Hesse and Thuringia. Nevertheless, voluntary work continues to play a key role.
